Under the inspired art direction of Ginny Ruffner I paint her glass pieces with a mix of techniques and paints. Her direction is very specific in concept, but execution is left to my own judgement. I always work from reference, either from photos or reproduction of famous paintings.

These were an interesting challenge because we had to adapt to the shape of the piece, and represent a tree stump. As these pieces are part of a Augmented Reality exhibition, they also needed to be “readable” by a scanner. So we had to paint for the eye and the machine.
Back in 2000 I created a large scale inside mural with Zephyr Brown at El Diablo Coffee Co. We painted all the walls, ceilings, stools, chairs, signage, tables and bathrooms. 18 years later they had to move and asked me to recreate one of the characters: Bettie in the new space with some updated color changes.
